Know Before You Go to IPW in Washington, DC

Washington, DC is so excited to host you at IPW 2017!  It’s almost time for your trip. Here’s everything you need to know as you get ready.

Before You Depart

Pack for warm weather: it’s likely to be in the 80s° F (27° C). Shorts, polos, short sleeves and summer dresses are all welcome and encouraged at evening events. Official IPW credentials will be required for opening and closing, so we encourage you to get to DC early and register before the event!

And before you depart, download Emoji DC for free for your smartphone from the App Store on your iPhone or Google Play on your Android, and share the wonders of Washington, DC via text and messaging apps.

Evening Events

The opening and closing events are going to be incredible. The National Mall and Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum serve as the stage for a spectacular lineup of DC entertainment during opening night on Sunday, June 4. You will have exclusive access to Nationals Park, home to America’s favorite pastime, baseball, during closing night on Wednesday, June 7.

Please note that no large bags are allowed at the opening or closing events. For both events, be sure to wear comfortable shoes (ladies: think flats or wedges).

Delegate sightseeing tours on Saturday and Sunday have been popular, and all but a few are waitlisted. If you don’t get confirmed prior to your trip, don’t worry – an on-site waitlist will be available and more information will be sent in the coming weeks.
