Stop One

Fill up at South Hall Market

For more than 135 years, DC’s Eastern Market has been serving the Capitol Hill community. Locals head to South Hall Market to shop for locally sourced fresh food like colorful fruits and veggies, top notch meats, dairy products and plenty of sweet treats. Make sure to stop at the Market Lunch counter, where long lines are a testimony to the vendor’s famous blueberry buckwheat pancakes.

Stop Two

Visit the outdoor flea market

On weekends, the atmosphere is even more festive as more than 100 exhibitors set up shop and sell handmade crafts, jewelry and antiques. It’s the perfect place to find an only-in-DC souvenir. Live music and local farmers selling their produce in the open air market also make Eastern Market worth the trip.
